Before Leen's arrival

While J is busy feeding Leen, I thought I would write a little post and let you know about the events leading up to the birth.

On April 21 some of Jeralyne's friends through her a baby shower here at the house. Lots of friends and a few family members attended. Lots of great food was had by all including a very yummmy breafast casserole, cute heart shaped waffels and some huge fruit trays.

We received many great gifts and have already put many of them to use! Many thanks to Jenn, Elizabeth and Laurie for hosting.

The next day, Sunday, we decided to go to the hospital to get Jeralyne checked out, as she had had a headache since the previous Friday. Fearing High blood pressure issues, we decided to play it save and head on in. Besides, being pregnant, we got to skip the emergency room and go straight upstairs to the birthing unit. Jeralyne was admitted and over the course of the next twenty-four hours, she was run through a series of tests to ensure that she has not developing any of the high blood pressure problems that can occour with pregnancies. We were sent home on Monday and Jeralyne was told to stay home on bedrest. As a result we had to cancel the baby shower that my mom was hosting the following weekend.
